A slow and essentialist baby brand. Inspired by the happy gurgling sound made by babies, the word “Aagghhoo” is a joyful expression of babyhood.

At Aagghhoo, the waste pieces of fabric generated from garment making were used as the base material, to make a learning tool for babies of different age groups, new born to toddlers. The extensive research done by the team, led us to create a sensory cloth book that is a mixture of sound, colour and texture. It is a double sided, playful book that closes in an accordion fold.

A project that aimed to encourage cognitive development in
babies led me down a road of nostalgia. From envisioning ablas
(mirror work) on my mother’s kurta, tassels, textures of hand
stitched embroidery on cushions, wooden toys to sound cues
like ghungru, (metal bells) and seeds inside a plastic ball.
It was exciting to create this for a baby who would experience it
with no preconception of their designated form or purpose.
An extension of the same concept were a set of tactile toys, using the natural dyed organic cotton scraps. Playing with fabrics, making and testing textures, working on the basic geometric forms - reimagining childhood experiences was definitely worth the try.

Happy Jingles is the first of its kind sensorial zero waste toys from Aagghhoo. Best part they are washable, so even if the toy has caught dust while playing in the park, parents can just wash them with mild soap cold water and dry in shade.
