soda fired collection

In 2019, a couple of potters and I, had the chance to observe and participate in a soda firing held at Adil Writer's studio - Mandala Pottery in Pondicherry. It was a sublime experience, to create pots using clay specially made for the best effects in such a firing, in simple forms to highlight the texture and colour. The unusual stacking of pots on the kiln shelves, using wads, made for some great flashing as the fire moved around the spaces between the pots.
